Nina Easton is chair of Fortune Most Powerful Women International–with events in the US, Asia, and Europe–and she co-chairs the Fortune Global Forum, which take place this year in Guangzhou, China. At the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), she hosts the global affairs series of live events and iTunes podcasts “Smart Women, Smart Power,” bringing world leaders and diplomats to the stage for insightful interviews. She is also founding partner of SellersEaston Media, dedicated to capturing the legacies of leaders in business, the arts, philanthropy, and public service.
From 2005 until 2016, Nina was a senior editor and award–winning columnist at Fortune magazine. For nearly two decades, she was a regular TV commentator, providing inside analysis on U.S. elections, Washington politics, foreign affairs, and the economy for top national news shows. She was a prime-time panelist on Fox News Special Report and Fox News Sunday, and also provided commentary on such programs as NBC’s Meet the Press, CBS’s Face the Nation, and ABC’s This Week.
Her critically-acclaimed history of modern conservatism, Gang of Five, drawing on hundreds of interviews and archival research, ranks on the Vox list of “books to read to understand the world.” In 2012, she served as a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School, teaching a seminar on the presidential election and conducting in-depth research on economic inequality, which became a Fortune magazine cover story.
Prior to joining Fortune, she served as deputy Washington bureau chief for the Boston Globe, where she co-authored the book John F. Kerry: A Complete Biography and coordinated much of the paper’s national political coverage. During a decade-long tenure at the Los Angeles Times, she won numerous awards as a reporter and Sunday magazine writer. She is also co-author of Reagan’s Ruling Class, a Washington Postv best-seller profiling top officials in the administration.
