Lisa Seacat DeLuca is a Director and Distinguished Engineer of Emerging Solutions at IBM's AI Applications business unit, where she is presently working to modernize the Weather Business Solutions and Aviation portfolios. DeLuca has a master's degree in technology commercialization from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business and a bachelor's degree in computer science with majors in business administration and multimedia productions from Carnegie Mellon University. DeLuca has been inducted into the Women in Technology International (WITI) Hall of Fame, has been named one of Entrepreneur Magazine's 49 Female Entrepreneurs Who Are Reshaping the Business World, and has appeared three times on the #LinkedInTopVoices in Technology list (2019 #2, 2018 #1, 2017 #2). She's a TED speaker, the self-published author of two children's books, "A Robot Story" and "The Internet of Mysterious Things," and IBM's most prolific female inventor, the only one to ever receive the 100th Invention Plateau Award (an IBM internal patent award system). Her patent portfolio consists of approximately 800 patent applications submitted in the United States and overseas, with 600 awarded to date.
