Though she moved around quite a lot as a kid her formative childhood homes were in the suburbs of Chicago (Downers Grove Illinois to be exact) and Decatur Alabama. In former career iterations she has been a senior writer at The Atlantic Wire a staff writer for The Village Voice and the managing editor of the sadly defunct Radar magazine. As a teen she had a poem published in Sassy magazine. Since those halcyon days she has written for The Atlantic Cosmopolitan Elle The Hairpin Mental Floss New York magazine The New York Times Book Review The Toast Vice The Village Voice and other lovely publications.
