Courtney Caldwell is a co-founder and COO of ShearShare, a startup that utilizes beauty-tech to offer the world's largest provider of on-demand salon and barbershop space rentals. The ShearShare app enables licensed beauty and barbering professionals to rent workspace by the day in various cities worldwide, while salon and barbershop owners earn money on unused space, thereby making ShearShare the most affordable lease in the market. Prior to co-founding ShearShare, Courtney and her husband ran an award-winning salon, which sparked the idea behind ShearShare. Before this, Courtney managed a boutique consulting firm that facilitated international sales and marketing success for companies such as Qualtrics, Zenefits, and Zendesk. With more than two decades of experience in tech marketing, Courtney held leadership roles in both early and late-stage technology companies. She served as Vice President of Marketing for Marketing Advocate, Global Director of Oracle's worldwide digital marketing strategy and innovations group, and Head of Digital Demand Generation and JAPAC field marketing at RightNow Technologies. Her leadership in demand and revenue generation at RightNow Technologies was critical in the company's $1.45B acquisition. Courtney has received numerous awards and accolades, including being named the 33rd African-American female to raise $1 million in venture funding, a 2022 Hype Hair Magazine 30 for 30, and the 2019 Ada Lovelace Female Tech Founder of the Year. She volunteers with various children's, education, and civic organizations and serves on the Advisory Board for Ogle Cosmetology School, the Alumni Board for Southern Methodist University, the President's Council at SMU, the Board of Trustees for Texas Military Institute, and the Board of Directors for the UT-Dallas Entrepreneurship Council. Courtney currently resides in Buffalo, New York, with her husband and co-founder, Dr. Tye Caldwell, and is a proud mother to their son, Trey, a senior cadet and football player at the United States Air Force Academy. In her leisure time, Courtney relishes challenging herself and recently accomplished the feat of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, in seven days.
