Allison Hauser Biography

After serving on Girl on the Run NYC's core team of volunteers and coaching for eleven seasons, Allison Hauser embraced the power and the opportunity that Girls on the Run gives to elementary and middle school girls, which helps them to have a voice especially with their friends, in their schools and in their communities. She serves as executive director for the organization. The lessons of healthy lifestyles, combined with running, gives these girls a chance to move, run and be carefree. Allison enjoyed athletics, movement and the spirit of a sports team from an early age. In high school, she spent every season -- fall, winter, spring, engaging in sports. She was chasing other runners and trying to outdo her own personal bests from running through the trails, to dashing around the track. Allison became a certified group fitness instructor, leading step and strength classes at their campus gym, and stepped out of her comfort zone to teach a hip hop class while in college. Because of the joy and friendships that sports brought her, Allison found the perfect volunteer fit when she moved to NYC and through the program, she’s met incredible girls who were mostly participants, fellow coaches and volunteers, who eventually bonded with her and have become sources of short, life-long friends and her running buddies.
