Renowned Facilitator Shows Southern Cal the Art of Gathering

A major driving force in meeting those challenges head-on is the San Diego Foundation (SDF), which is celebrating its golden anniversary this fall. Founded in 1975, the organization has granted over $1.8 billion in funds to the San Diego area, partnering with donors, nonprofits, and regional leaders to deliver community solutions for over half a century.
SDF announced that best-selling author and strategist Priya Parker will be invited as the guest speaker for the third annual San Diego Fundraising Conference presented by PNC Bank, which will take place Sept.18-19 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel.
Priya Parker is a strategist and best-selling author best known for her work on creating meaningful gatherings and her book "The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters" (2018). She founded Thrive Labs, where she helps city leaders, corporate executives, activists, and philanthropists design transformative gatherings to foster community and purpose-driven connections. Parker studied organizational design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, and political and social thought at the University of Virginia.
