Zoraida Sambolin Biography

In 2014, Zoraida Sambolin returned to NBC5 News after two years at CNN. In the third-largest market in the nation, she has made history for Latinos. She recently presented a Spanish-language DVD that will be given to preschool instructors around the country as a resource to spot early indications of autism. As a volunteer, she also works with a variety of groups in the Chicago region, including the Anti-Defamation League, where she recently moderated a discussion on the Darfur situation, and the Puerto Rican Alliance, where she sits on the advisory board. From 1999 to 2002, Sambolin served as the creator and Emmy-winning host of the television programs Small Talk for Parents on WYCC-TV and Nuestros Ninos on WSNS-TV. She formerly served as the Chicago City Colleges' broadcasting director. Zoraida resides in Oak Park and is the mother of two hilarious kids.
