Yigit Pura Biography

Yigit Pura began his culinary education at the age of four in Ankara, Turkey, while assisting his mother in making dark caramel spoonfuls. His formal culinary training began when he was 20 years old in San Francisco, where he worked in some of the best kitchens in the city. He subsequently relocated to New York City, where he worked at Le Cirque in 2000 before moving to The Four Seasons Hotel. Yigit subsequently got his "golden step" as the Pastry Sous Chef at Daniel, working under Chef Daniel Boulud, where he was elevated to Executive Pastry for Daniel Boulud in Las Vegas after two and a half years. Since then, he's worked at Taste Catering and Event Planning in San Francisco. Yigit compares his baking philosophy to Buddhism. Between the two extremes are enlightened treats. You must appreciate food's history and tradition while also being motivated to recreate dishes on a daily basis. Season 1 of Bravo's Top Chef Just Desserts was won by Yigit. Tout Sweet, Yigit's first solo business, has opened.
