Since Wonho Chung was raised in Amman, Jordan, his upbringing was entirely Arab. He relocated to Dubai the next year to pursue a media career after earning his degree from Applied Science University. When Showtime Arabia called Chung in November 2007 about joining the Axis of Evil comedy tour as the Korean they were searching for, Chung's comic career officially got underway. They eventually opted for a South Korean who speaks Arabic in place of their original choice of a North Korean to complete the Axis. He performed in 27 shows for a total of 20000 spectators during a month-long comedy tour with Axis of Evil in Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Dubai. Fans of stand-up comedy had another dose of humor when Showtime launched Friday Night Live, which Chung and his Axis co-star Aron Kader presented. With nine international comedians sharing the stage and a 2500-person crowd for a one-night stand-up comedy spectacular with the theme "minorities reign," Friday Night Live was then the largest stand-up comedy performance in the area.
