Dr. Winston Brill's first career was as a professor at the University of Wisconsin, where he was recognized with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Award for the most significant advancement in agricultural sciences and the Eli Lilly Award as the top microbiologist under 40 in the United States and Canada. Those two prizes were given for unique discoveries.

He co-founded and rose to the position of vice president of R&D at Agracetus, a biotech business that Monsanto and PowderJect Vaccines later bought. Winston was named one of the top ten most inventive researchers by Business Week as a result of Agracetus's accomplishments. Additionally, the National Academy of Sciences elected him.
