Virginia native William G. Hyland Jr. earned his J.D. from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law after earning his B.A. from the University of Alabama. Hyland is a trial attorney with over 26 years of experience and a former prosecutor. His articles, including A Civil Action: Hemings v. Jefferson, have appeared in the law journals of the Universities of Texas and Richmond as well as the American Journal of Trial Advocacy. Prior to attending law school, he held a Top Secret security clearance and worked in Washington, D.C., for the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency. Hyland is a member of the Virginia and New York Historical Societies and serves on Florida's Judicial Nominating Commission. Now residing in Tampa Bay, Florida, he writes there.
