Wilfred McClay Biography

At the University of Oklahoma, Wilfred M. McClay holds the G.T. and Libby Blankenship Chair in the History of Liberty. He is a contributing editorial manager for New Atlantis. In addition, he has senior positions with the Trinity Forum and the Ethics and Public Policy Center. He served on the National Council on the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Humanities advisory body, from 2002 to 2012. Prior to his move to the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga in 1999, when he held the SunTrust Bank Chair of Excellence in Humanities, McClay taught at Georgetown, Tulane, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Dallas. McClay is a member of the Ralston College Board of Visitors and The Wilson Quarterly First Things Society Historical Speaking publication/warning sheets.
