American author and commentator Wesley Morris works for The New York Times. Morris has already written music for The Boston Globe and Grantland. For his work with The Globe, he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism in 2012. Morris began working at The Boston Globe in 2002 and began researching movies starring Ty Burr. Additionally, Morris and Burr appeared on NECN to discuss the most recent films and to host the weekly Take-Two film review video segment on Boston.com. He wrote film reviews and stories for the San Francisco Examiner and the San Francisco Chronicle before joining the Globe. In the 2009 documentary For the Love of Movies: The Story of American Film Critique, he is shown discussing the impact of video store purchasing on the value of film analysis and how commentator Harry Knowles started the erroneous notion of newcomers doing film criticism. Wesley Morris wrote lyrics for the ESPN website Grantland from 2013 to 2015. Morris joined The New York Times as a commentator in October 2015, contributing to both the newspaper and The New York Times Magazine.
