At the Classical Theatre of Harlem, his performance of "The Cherry Orchard" got raving reviews (nominated for a VIV award in the lead actor category). He then sang "Waiting For Godot" as a follow-up (set on a rooftop surrounded by water in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans). The play "Broke-ology," which had its world premiere at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and will be presented at Lincoln Center in New York City in the autumn of 2009, will be Pierce's next project. For his role in "The Wire," Pierce has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Best Actor in a Television Drama three times. He also received the Women's Image Network "WIN" Award and the 2008 Image Award for Best Actor in a Television Movie.
