Wayne Kramer Biography

Wayne Kramer is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and arranger best known for being a member of the Detroit rock band Motor City 5. (MC5). Additionally, he founded the charitable Jail Guitar Doors USA. Kramer gained notoriety as a young person in 1967 as a key supporter of the MC5, a group renowned for their amazing live performances and extreme left-wing political stance. With MC5, Kramer released three highly praised albums. Kramer was sentenced to administrative jail at Lexington Federal Penitentiary in 1975 after he was found giving cocaine to clandestine government agents. Kramer visited various artisans and groups after being released, performed at events with a political theme, and released five performance records. In 2001, Kramer launched MuscleTone Records as a free label alongside his partner and manager Margaret Saadi Kramer. Eight years after the incident, Kramer and his better half founded Jail Guitar Doors USA, a non-profit organization located in Los Angeles that provides guitars to prisoners for rehabilitation. JGD-USA has so far intervened in more than 60 offices for what is known as the most intense cause on planet Earth.
