Tyler Haney, the founder and CEO of Outdoor Voices, has always been active, but he lost interest in sports because of the neon, black, and mesh clothing that was popular at the time and the associated "harder, faster, stronger" mindset. She came to see that the need to succeed that had earlier fuelled her competitive edge was very different from what motivated her to be active. It was a more balanced joy and liberating. She developed an obsession with technical materials while attending Parsons School of Design, and soon after graduating, she set out to develop a brand-new category of sportswear. The brand Outdoor Voices promotes an active lifestyle. We support separating fitness from performance and enjoy physical exercise with comedy and joy. When it comes to encouraging people to lead sustainably active lifestyles, we believe that Doing Things—moving your body and having fun with friends—outlasts a win.
