TX was shocked by the high prices of textbooks when he first entered the Wesleyan bookshop and made the decision to launch a business to assist students in obtaining inexpensive books. Together, he and one of his close friends expanded this concept from their cramped dorm room into a multimillion-dollar enterprise. After completing a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics, TX and his business partner successfully left the company in 2007. Realizing that he lacked business experience, TX made the decision to join McKinsey & Company in order to get insight from the world's top executives. TX was still itching to return to business, and when he was admitted to Stanford's graduate school, the right chance presented itself. TX engaged himself in the local startup scene while attending business school and worked as the CFO for the start-up electric car company Lit Motors. TX was employed concurrently by Eric Schmidt-backed seed-stage startup firm Innovation Endeavors.
