Travis Wall Biography

Travis Wall, a visual musician, began dancing at the age of 3 at his mother's studio, learning jazz, lyrical, and contemporary dance. Early in his career, Travis appeared on the television program Showstopper American Dance Championships, where he and Dance Energy competed and won. At age 9, Travis began his professional career by appearing in a national television ad for Dr. Pepper as the "Dr. Pepper Boy." In the 2001 production of "The Music Man," when he understudied Winthrop and played Eddie Mason and Barney Hix, he made his Broadway debut. Travis was included in the book "Moving Still: A Live Performance," won several regional and national dance competitions, including Outstanding Male Teen Dancer in 2003, and later toured with the stage production of the same name. Additionally, he has performed with the American Dance Artists Company. He finished in second place on the 2006 season of "So You Think You Can Dance," where he later went on tour as the dance captain with the top 10 dancers. He now resides in New York and Los Angeles and has worked with Wade Robson and Adam Shankman on a number of TV and film projects. Travis has produced remarkable choreography for "So You Think You Can Dance" as a resident choreographer. He was requested to choreograph "Dancing with the Stars" because of his position. He recently created a ballet for the Los Angeles City Ballet Company and served as the assistant choreographer for "The 82nd Academy Awards." Travis collaborated with Florence and the Machine, Chelsea Handler, Eminem, and Drake to choreograph the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. He helped choreograph Demi Lovato's next promotional tour under Wade Robson's supervision. In 2011, Travis' body of work on "So You Think You Can Dance" earned him a nomination for an Emmy in the Outstanding Choreography category. In Miami, he collaborated with Chris Scott and Jamal Sims to choreograph "Step Up 4" as well. Alongside Teddy Forance, Nick Lazzarini, and Kyle Robinson, Wall appeared in the reality series "All the Right Moves." The four men created their own dance group called Shaping Sound. Wall is paving the way for a new generation of choreographers and continually expanding his professional opportunities.
