Tony Prophet Biography

The Chief Equality Officer of Salesforce is Tony Prophet. In his position, he seeks to advance equality for all and create a workplace that represents the various communities it serves. In order to guarantee that our technology not only contributes to the success of our clients but also advances societal progress and enhances the quality of life for everybody, he also oversees the new Ethical Humane Use of Technology program. He answers directly to Marc Benioff, co-CEO and chairman. Previously, Prophet held top executive product marketing positions at Microsoft, including corporate vice president of Windows and Search Marketing, where he was in charge of the brand's Windows, Bing, Cortana, and MSN. Prophet is now a member of the College Track board. Prior to joining Microsoft, he oversaw operations for what is now HP Inc., and before that, he oversaw operations for Carrier Corporation. He was also a founding CEO of BlackLight, an organization enabling Black marketers within Microsoft (a United Technologies Business). Prior to that, he worked as a partner with Booz Allen Hamilton. Prophet has devoted his career to advancing social justice and human rights, including defending the rights of young workers, educating female employees about health issues in developing nations, enhancing educational opportunities for migrant worker children, and addressing the underlying reasons for migratory worker flows. Along with improving healthcare for children and HIV-positive women in the San Francisco Bay Area, he is also passionate about community service. His work has received widespread recognition, including appointment to the National Academies of Sciences Board on Energy and the Environment and receipt of China's 3 Gorges Award and Shanghai China's Magnolia Silver Award. Prophet has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from General Motors Institute. He also got Booz Allen's highest honor for client work, the Professional Excellence Award.
