Tony Mowbray Biography

Tony Mowbray is the current manager of Coventry City and a former professional football player in England. Mowbray was a defender for Middlesbrough, Celtic, and Ipswich Town. He began his coaching career at Ipswich Town before taking his first management post with Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League, where he won the Scottish Football Writers' Association Manager of the Year title in his first season. In 2006, he joined West Bromwich Albion, where he won the Football League Championship in 2008 but was relegated from the Premier League the following season. Mowbray was later hired as Celtic's manager but was fired after only nine months. Mowbray then became the manager of Middlesbrough, another of his former teams. Mowbray departed Middlesbrough with immediate effect on October 21, 2013, following a terrible start to the 2013-14 season.
