The Executive Director of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research is Todd Sherer (MJFF). Todd is in charge of the organization's overall scientific and fundraising direction in order to hasten the development of new treatments and a cure for Parkinson's disease. Todd has formal training as a neuroscientist. Dr. Sherer has played a crucial role in the Foundation's strategy to identify high-priority research areas for Parkinson's disease — therapeutic targets and strategies that are most crucial or closest to being practically relevant in patients' daily lives — in order to use donor-raised funds to accelerate projects in these areas toward the clinic. Currently, Dr. Sherer is a member of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences' advisory council (NCATS).
