Former Chief Technology Officer of the United States and President's Assistant Todd Park held the position. Todd became the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Chief Technology Officer in August 2009. (HHS). He assisted HHS in harnessing the potential of information, technology, and innovation to enhance the health of the country while acting as a change agent and "entrepreneur-in-residence" in this capacity. Mr. Park co-founded Athenahealth and co-led its growth into one of the most cutting-edge health IT businesses in the sector before joining HHS. Additionally, he was a founding partner in Castlight, a consumer-focused online healthcare marketplace. A senior health care advisor to Ashoka, a top global incubator of social entrepreneurs, Mr. Park has also worked in a volunteer capacity as a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, where he focused on health IT and health reform policy, and where he helped launch Healthpoint Services, a business that aims to bring affordable telehealth, medications, diagnostics, and clean water to rural India. Mr. Park earned an A.B. in economics from Harvard College with honors and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
