Todd Oldham Biography

Todd Oldham, a mentor for Top Design, was born in Nueces County, Texas, on October 22, 1961. His parents are Jackie Ray and Linea Lee (Renfro) Oldham, American fashion designers. He presented a Todd Time feature for MTV's House of Style in the 1990s. Oldham was also a pioneer in creating the Batman Forever apparel line for Warner Brothers. Oldham has experimented with designing furniture and home goods for the La-Z-Boy Furniture firm in addition to clothing. On October 1st, 2007, he was appointed creative director of Old Navy as well. Todd Oldham received many honors for his work in the 1990s. In 1991, the Council of Fashion Designers presented him with the Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent, and in 1998, the Otis School of Design named him Designer of the Year. He was given the Style and Design Award by Vox Vodka and Out magazine in 2002. The out-homosexual Oldham also works with the longest supportive housing program for HIV/AIDS sufferers, Bailey House, as an advocate. He collaborates with PETA and backs the animal rights cause (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
