Tina L. Vick, the aunt of NFL superstar Michael Vick, was born and reared in the roughest neighborhood in Newport News, Virginia. She attended public schools and earned her high school diploma from Homer L. Ferguson in 1980. She was the first person to get a scholarship for public housing.
As a result, she was able to attend college and cultivate a strong work ethic. Vick, who understood she didn't want to remain impoverished, worked while attending school. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications in 1984 from Richmond, Virginia's Commonwealth University. Vick has been influencing those around her for 30 years.
