About Tina Louise
Tina Louise Biography
In God's Little Acre, Tina Louise made her Hollywood film debut in 1958. She was dubbed the World's Most Beautiful Redhead by the National Art Council in the same year, and the next year, she received a Golden Globe. She made her acting debut in the Bette Davis musical revue Two's Company in 1952, and after that, she appeared in several Broadway shows including Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter and John Murray Anderson's Almanac: The Fifth Season. She appeared in early live television dramas including Appointment with Adventure and Studio One with John Cassavetes Producers' Showcase. She made her Broadway debut in 1957 in the popular show Li'l Abner. That year saw the publication of her album It's Time for Tina, which featured songs like Embraceable You and I'm in the Mood for Love. Louise then rose to prominence as a leading woman for big-name actors like Robert Taylor, Richard Widmark, and Robert Ryan, frequently portraying dark characters that contrasted sharply with the dazzling pinup photos for which she had gained fame in the late 1950s. She declined roles in Operation Petticoat and Little Abner in favor of ones on Broadway, in Italian movies, and in Hollywood.
