With the help of his wife Kathy and three small kids, Timothy Keller founded Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan in 1989. He oversaw a varied group of young professionals for 28 years, and their weekly attendance climbed to over 5000. Additionally, he is the Chairman and Co-Founder of Redeemer City to City (CTC), a company that plants new churches in New York and other major cities across the world and produces materials for urban ministry. Through a partnership with the City Ministry Program at Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS), Dr. Keller moved to CTC full-time in 2017 to teach and guide church planters and seminary students. He also collaborates on church planting activities with CTC's international affiliates. Over 2 million copies of Dr. Keller's works, including the New York Times bestsellers The Reason for God and The Prodigal God, have been sold, and they have been published in 25 other languages. According to Christianity Today, Tim Keller will be regarded as a pioneer of the new urban Christians in fifty years if evangelical Christians are well recognized for their love of cities, devotion to compassion and justice, and love of their neighbors.
