Tim Weiner is a reporter and novelist with awards. For 25 years, he has covered war, revolution, terrorism, espionage, and soldiers as a reporter. He has covered stories for The New York Times in many different countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Cuba, Haiti, and many more.
For his investigations on the CIA and Pentagon's black budget spending, Weiner, an investigative writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer, won the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting. Based on that newspaper story, his book Blank Check: The Pentagon's Black Budget was written.
