Tim Minchin Biography

Australian musician, actor, comedian, and writer Tim Minchin is also a writer. Since beginning at South Melbourne's Butterfly Club in 2005, he has been presenting his distinctive style of musical comedy in front of suitably animated and continuously expanding crowds. For his breakout play Darkside, which won the Director's Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, he also received the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer. Later that same year, he had one of the most successful debut performances ever at the Edinburgh Fringe. Without getting into too much detail, he has performed several quite well-received live performances since then, frequently in Australia or the UK but also on the continent of North America. His most recent songs cover a variety of subjects, including his amour de boobs, rationality, and ecology (ism). In December 2010, Tim also begins his first Arena tour in the UK with a 55-piece orchestra. After that, he'll perform it with symphony orchestras all throughout Australia before taking it to Scotland in 2011.
