Tim Griffin Biography

Tim Griffin, a native of Chicago who is sometimes referred to as the actor who appears in everything, has a long list of accomplishments to his name and has established himself as one of Hollywood's friendliest, most endearing, and most versatile performers. He originally became interested in performing after being chosen to play Oliver Twist in a school production of the musical Oliver! Griffin appeared as an adolescent in a number of plays for The Body Politic and the New Haven Playhouse, as well as in regional films and commercials. Griffin chose to put acting on hold in order to enroll at the University of Vermont (UVM), where he graduated with a double degree in political philosophy and English literature. Griffin graduated from Francis Parker High School alongside classmates Paul Adelstein, Anne Heche, and author Brad Thor. Griffin participated in the show as a regular UVM Players performer (as Claudio in Much Ado About Nothing and Riff in West Side Story). His automobile broke down outside of New York City during his sophomore year while he was returning to Chicago. His reps asked him to attend an audition for the TV movie Taking A Stand while he was waiting for it to be fixed. He was chosen to play the lead in the all-star production (Betty Buckley Jane Adams Michael Beach). A Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Children's Special was later awarded to the program.
