In 2007, after being inspired by the opening of the Velib bike-sharing program in Paris, Timothy Ericson co-founded Zagster. He combined his love of riding with his experience working in corporate IT at a Fortune 500 firm to found a business that today uses technology to make bikes available to hundreds of thousands of Americans. In his capacity as CEO, he has received more than $2 million in fundraising from notable VC firms including Fontinalis Partners (the venture arm of Ford Chairman Bill Ford) and angel investors, including the original investor in Zipcar. Ericson has been in charge of sales and business development initiatives that have resulted in agreements with major corporations (Quicken Loans, General Motors, Four Seasons), as well as colleges and renowned real estate developers (Related Forest City Bozzuto Group). Ericson graduated from Drexel University with a bachelor's degree and was given the Young Alumni Entrepreneur Award. He has volunteered for many different educational institutions as well as organizations like the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship. Ericson enjoys traveling, discovering new locations, and experiencing the local cuisine and cultures of those areas when he isn't aiming to put the entire planet on two wheels. He intends to someday find a way to turn his love of cooking into a profession after attending culinary school.
