Tim Echols spent 15 years working for nonprofit organizations before being chosen to serve on the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) in the general election of November 2010. In his time as founder of TeenPact, Echols expanded the teenage mock-legislative program to 38 states. He still has a position on the board of directors. Tim's campaign emphasized responsibility, sustainable energy, and consumer protection. Tim is also very interested in the PSC's transportation duties. He played a key role in convincing a Macon TV station to run an investigation on "rogue" moving companies that break the law and harm respectable enterprises. In addition, he encourages the use of CNG (compressed natural gas) as a fuel for vehicles in the hopes that America may one day become less reliant on foreign oil. Tim founded his own non-profit organization, Family Resource Network, in the south metro Atlanta region where he was raised. TeenPact, an FRN initiative, has developed into a national citizenship education for teenagers that operates in approximately 40 states. Tim leads the company, which has its headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. Since its start in 1994, TeenPact has trained more than 23,000 adolescents and kids.
