Timo Curry is an English performer who also sings and jokes. He is most recognized for playing nasty characters in a variety of theatre, cinema, and television roles. Curry gained notoriety for his performance as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), a character he had previously played in the theatrical versions of The Rocky Horror Show in 1973 London and 1974 Los Angeles. His previous theatrical credits include a number of parts in the original West End production of Hair, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Amadeus the Pirate King on Broadway in 1980, Alan Swann in My Favorite Year on Broadway in 1982, and King Arthur in 2005–2007 Broadway and West End performances of Spamalot. In addition, Curry received praise for his performances in movies and on television, including those of Rooster Hannigan in the 1982 adaptation of Annie, Darkness in the fantasy film Legend, Wadsworth in the 1985 comedy-mystery Clue, Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the 1990 horror miniseries It, and Long John Silver in the Muppet Treasure Island (1996).
