Tiffani Faison Biography

American chef Tiffani Faison was in the top two in the first season of Bravo's reality competition Top Chef. Faison, who self-describes as an Army brat, was born to American parents in Germany and was reared there as well as in Boston, Massachusetts, and Northern California. Later in the same year, she worked at the Ritz Carlton Boston Common as the Backlot's Food and Beverage Director after a brief stint as a bartender at Lucky's Lounge. The Cambridge Culinary Institute was where she studied. Faison served as Daniel Boulud's chef de partie at his renowned Michelin Star restaurant at the Wynn Las Vegas and also at the Tao restaurant in The Venetian in the same city just before making an appearance on Top Chef. Faison began working as a summer cook at the Straight Wharf restaurant on Nantucket, Massachusetts, after the premiere of the last episode of Top Chef in May 2006. He was supervised by Amanda Lydon and Gabriel Frasca. She served as Todd English's brasserie Riche's executive chef in 2007 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
