The most recent position that Thomas E. Donilon held was that of President Barack Obama's national security advisor. In that role, Mr. Donilon oversaw the National Security Council staff, presided over the cabinet-level National Security Principals Committee, delivered the daily national security briefing to the president, and was in charge of coordinating and integrating the administration's military and foreign policy intelligence efforts. Prior to this, Mr. Donilon held the positions of principal deputy national security advisor and assistant to the president.
