Terri L. Griffith Biography

Terri L. Griffith is a professor of management at the Leavey School of Business (B.A., UC Berkeley; M.S., Ph.D., Carnegie Mellon GSIA; now the Tepper School of Business). Her research and counseling interests include the effective use of recent developments and hierarchical practices. Although she has recently focused on group tools and advancement techniques, she has had a significant presence in virtual/appropriate coordinated efforts since 1984. The National Science Foundation funds two Fortune 100 technology companies that are both focused on inspiring the highest performance from their teams in challenging circumstances. These companies are included in Prof. Griffith's ongoing field research. Journals, including Organization Science Information Systems Research MIS Quarterly Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and the Academy of Management Review, have published her research. She is a co-supervisor of the Technology-Based Research on Managing Groups and Teams (2000 JAI Press). Professor Griffith was a resource at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Arizona before joining Santa Clara University. Additionally, she has held visiting appointments at the Melbourne School of Business, UC Berkeley, Purdue University, Northwestern University, and the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration in Bangkok, Thailand. Other international experience includes a Bulgarian Train the Mentor program funded by the United States Information Agency, where she and other staff members introduced American business training concepts and procedures.
