As soon as word of his expertise as a boxer spread, he was brought in to train the Iraqi boxing team for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Building a group during a war brought enormous obstacles, yet Watkins managed to make the impossible happen. In his introductions, Watkins walks the audience through his struggles and resolve to reach his goal of qualifying as one Iraqi Olympian. His inspirational tale, aptly titled Termite, written by Suzy Pepper, will serve as the basis for a movie directed by Fred Kuehnert, best known for the Academy Award–winning film The Buddy Holly Story.
