Tawny Newsome Biography

Tawny Newsome, a skilled performer and alumnus of the DePaul Theater School is now appearing on the Mainstage of the Second City in their 101st revue, Let Them Eat Chaos. Before that, Tawny appeared in the 36th revue; We're All in This Room Together, which won a Jeff Grant and other awards. Additionally, she visited the Second City National Touring company and appeared on the stage and radio program Chicago Live! of the Chicago Tribune. The Chicago Shakespeare Theatrical, Victory Gardens Porchlight Music Theater, Bohemian Theater Ensemble Collaboraction, and Walkabout Theater are just a few of the Chicago theatre companies Tawny has played with. She has also appeared in commercials for brands including Totino's Budweiser and Sears, among others. Brownish is a vocalist and, at one point, a guitarist who frequently performs with local bands and is commonly spotted on stage in front of an audience by the incredibly talented Jon Langford. She appeared in his album Old Devils. Too Proud to Steal, Tawny's debut solo album, was released in May 2013.
