In 1994, she began making donations to the American Cancer Society. Tara had the opportunity to interact with children battling illness or who had survived malignant growths. Every time a topic of conversation came up, the youngsters would always say that they didn't care if their sickness medications caused them to lose their hair. Hats Off For Cancer officially began at that point. In 1996, Tara started a national letter-writing and phone-calling campaign to ask for donations from local, state, and federal agencies and renowned individuals, schools, and community organizations. Newspapers, magazines, and TV news programs interviewed Tara about her schedule during the following year. Throughout the eight years of HOC, she has been on various local and national newscasts. Local and national newspapers, including the Star-Ledger News and National Enquirer covered the show.
