About Susan Wiggs

Susan Wiggs Biography

Susan Wiggs self-published her first book at eight, using cheap scissors, a Big Chief tablet, a purchased stapler, and a Number 2 pencil. A Book About Some Bad Kids [I still have this-CL] was inspired by Susan and her family's real-life endeavors, and the initial printing of just one copy was utterly sold out. Susan went underground with her art involving her friends and accusing her family with covertly written descriptions about sensible sisters and the siblings who abuse them as a result of her sibling's wild reaction to that first significant effort. The first novel she ever read was Shanna by the legendary Kathleen Woodiwiss, which she devoured while slouching behind a school textbook for vector analysis—armed with degrees from SFA and Harvard and carrying a box of Woodiwiss's guardian books Bobbie Gellis Ms. Laurie McBain Rodgers, Rosemary Jessica Blake Bertrice. To prove to the world that she had a left brain, she became a math teacher and read everything with the terms flare and delight in the title. She finished the book she was reading late one night and was woken up by the reader's worst nightmare. She was on high alert and didn't need to look through anything in the house. A Book About Some Bad Adults is the working title of the author's manuscript, which she began keeping track of after concluding that this was the universe's way of erasing her justifications. She obtained a Big Chief tablet and a Number Two pencil. In actuality, it was a bad novel about some adults, but Susan persisted in honing her craft like a blind person learns to skydive: jumping and trusting that the chute will open.
