Susan Lynn Meyer left for Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore college. She started off majoring in math but then switched to English. She continued to think about writing while attending graduate school at Yale and UCLA (where she earned a master's certificate in English writing) (where she got her Ph.D.).
She currently teaches English at Wellesley College, located outside of Boston. She writes children's books and scholarly analyses (books and essays about literary works). In addition, she teaches classes in American writing, creative writing, and Victorian writing. She resides outside Boston with her better half Ken and daughter Hannah.
