Susan L. Decker Biography
Sue is a Harvard Business School Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR). Ms. Decker collaborates with students, participates in case development activities, and aids in the creation and delivery of some components of the HBS students' Silicon Valley Immersion Program in January 2010. She led Yahoo Inc. as president from June 2007 until April 2009. Ms. Decker was in charge of Yahoowhole !'s worldwide business operations, which included sales, product marketing, product development, and distribution to the company's three main clientele segments: audience, advertisers, and publishers. Between January 2002 to December 2006, Ms. Decker held the positions of Yahoo Inc.'s Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer. In addition to overseeing and defining the company's financial and administrative direction in critical functional areas, including finance, human resources, legal, and investor relations, Ms. Decker had a significant role in determining Yahoobusiness !'s strategy. Ms. Decker spent 14 years at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), where she began as an equities research analyst, before joining Yahoo! in June 2000. She worked as an equity analyst at the Research Division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corp. Between August 1986 and May 2000, Ms. Decker worked for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as its Global and Domestic Head of Research and Director of Global Equity Research. Since November 2006, Ms. Decker has served as a director of Intel Corporation. Since October 20, 2010, she has served as a director of LegalZoom, Inc., Costco Wholesale Corp., and Berkshire Hathaway Inc., respectively. In addition, she serves as a Save the Children trustee. From June 2004 to May 2006, she served as a director of Pixar, Inc. (commonly known as Pixar Animation Studios). From March 2005 to May 2007, she served as a director of The Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR). Ms. Decker graduated with a Bachelor of Science in computer science and economics from Tufts University. She graduated from Harvard Business School with a master's in business administration.
