Susan Gianinno Biography

As Chairman and CEO of Publicis Worldwide in the USA, Susan Gianinno joined Publicis Groupe in 2003. She belongs to the Executive Committee of Publicis Worldwide (COMEX). She also belongs to the Strategic Leadership Team of Publicis Groupe. Susan's duties at work include managing Publicis USA projects for Publicis Kaplan Thaler, Publicis Modem Riney, and AR New York. Susan was previously CEO at J. Walter Thompson New York and Chairman and President of D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles Worldwide. She left her position as EVP Worldwide Client Managing Director at BBDO, responsible for all of the company's international clients, to join JWT. Susan spent twelve years working as the EVP Worldwide Client Managing Director at Young and Rubicam. Susan was a trailblazer since she was the first female director at all four organizations. Since 1991, Susan has served as a trustee at Boston College. She will soon take over as chair of the visiting committee at the University of Chicago's Division of Social Sciences. Susan has served on the Board of Directors of The Advertising Council since 2003 and is currently its Chairman Emeritus. In addition, Susan serves on R.R. Donnelley's board.
