Sally Hallock Dey was formerly a model and performer. Her roles in The Partridge Family and L.A. Law have garnered her the most excellent attention. Before appearing as Laurie Partridge in the 1970–1974 T.V. series The Partridge Family, Dey was a model. She had no prior acting experience and was just 17 years old when she landed the role. Dey developed a food disorder, a kind of orthorexia Nervosa while watching The Partridge Family and trying to eat as little as possible. She would only eat carrots while dealing with this problem. She denied having trouble up until a cast party at the beach. Then, Danny Bonaduce, a co-star, yelled. What's wrong with you? You have orange skin! Dey overcame her problem after this episode after a struggle, returning to normal (and skin tone). Dey tried to erase her healthy image once the T.V. show ended. She accepted roles in movies where she had to be semi-naked or nude. Despite this, the new film didn't help her advance in her career, and she continued to be in demand for a few film roles. Dey looked to be trying to bounce back with her performance in the 1981 gorgeous spine-tingling thriller Looker, but following this well-known movie, she very much disappeared from the public eye until her starring role in the T.V. series L.A. Law as Grace Van Owen. As far as her performance in this position is concerned, she was essentially lauded. For her role in 1987, she won a Golden Globe for Actress In A Leading Role — Drama Series. In the four years that followed, she was chosen four more times. For this role in 1987, 1988, and 1989, she was nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
