Steve Kornacki is a political correspondent for MSNBC. On weekdays, Steve headlines MSNBC Live at 4 p.m. and frequently steps in for Chris Matthews. Steve has routinely featured in prime time on election nights for MSNBC's 2016 coverage, delivering real-time analysis of voting trends, exit polls, and electoral statistics. He formerly anchored MTP Daily on Mondays, Up with Steve Kornacki on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 to 10 a.m. ET, and was a co-host of MSNBC ensemble show The Cycle. He formerly worked for the New York Observer, Roll Call, and Salon, where he was the political editor. Additionally, his book, which focuses on the political history of the 1990s, is expected out in 2017. Kornacki also lived in New Jersey for three years, covering state politics for a website and co-hosting a weekly show on News 12 New Jersey, a 24-hour cable news station. His writing has also featured in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the New York Daily News, the New York Post, the Boston Globe, the Daily Beast, and Capital New York, where he wrote a series of in-depth profiles of important New York political personalities. He is a native of Groton, Massachusetts, and a graduate of Boston University.
