Stephen Frost Biography

Stephen is a worldwide known specialist on inclusiveness and leadership. As Head of Diversity and Inclusion for the London Organizing Committee from 2007 to 2012, Stephen planned, directed, and implemented the inclusion initiatives for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). In this capacity, he was in charge of 22 programs, a 200,000-person workforce, a �1.1 billion procurement budget, and 57 delivery roles. These varied from diversity in an 11 million ticket scheme, to accessibility at 134 distinct locations. His team oversaw a succession of outreach recruiting action plans that resulted in unparalleled workforce inclusion. The LOCOG Business Charter established new supplier diversity criteria, and LOCOG was the first organization in the UK to achieve the Diversity Works for London Gold Standard and the Advanced Level of the Equality Standard for Sport. From 2004 to 2007, Stephen established and led the workplace team at Stonewall, Europe's largest LGBT equality organization, launching the UK's first lesbian and gay recruitment guide, establishing the LGBT Leadership Program, and developing the Workplace Equality Index, which has become a standard across many leading UK and global employers. Stephen began his career in advertising, where he focused on disability and age awareness campaigns, and has since worked in communications and consultancy in the United States, Greece, Tanzania, China, and Brazil. He attended Oxford as a Hertford College Scholar and Harvard as a Fulbright Scholar. He was designated one of the top 100 prominent LGBT individuals in the UK in 2014 after receiving the Peter Robertson Award for Equality and Diversity Champions in 2010. In addition, the World Economic Forum has named him a Young Global Leader. He is a "Expert Advisor" to the British Government, The White House, and KPMG's Diversity and Inclusion Program, and he teaches Inclusive Leadership at Harvard University Business School in the United States and Sciences Po in France. Stephen is the author of The Inclusion Imperative: How Real Inclusion Builds Better Businesses and Societies (Kogan Page, 2014), and his second book, Inclusive Talent Management: How Business Can Thrive in an Age of Diversity (Kogan Page), will be released in 2016.
