Stephen D. Williamson Biography

Stephen D. Williamson is a Professor of Economics at Western University, where he holds the Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chair in Central Banking. Professor Williamson held a few distinct jobs before arriving to Western, including those at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and the University of Iowa. From 2014 to 2017, he was a Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, and he previously worked at the Bank of Canada and the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Master in macroeconomics and focused finance Professor Williamson has made major commitments to these domains. He has been a vocal proponent of the new monetarist financial affairs approach to thinking about fiscal and banking policies and arrangements as they relate to macroeconomic execution and government aid. His research on money-related financial problems and strategy ranges from the development of hypothetical models to the practical application of verifiable methods. His ebb and flow study strategy focuses on the relationship between national banks and the monetary situation, as well as the role of cash in the current computerized world. Professor Williamson has published almost 40 publications, including six of the top five financial diaries. He has also distributed Canadian and American editions of his course book Macroeconomics, which is widely used in Canada and around the world, as well as 17 articles in Federal Reserve distributions remarks and surveys, which have been used to advise strategy creators in national banks all over the world. He has received several honors and grants, as well as visiting researcher posts at the Federal Reserve Banks of Richmond, St. Louis, and Cleveland.
