Stephanie Izard Biography

Stephanie Izard is the chief chef and partner of Girl the Goat, the Little Goat, and duck duck goat, three award-winning Chicago restaurants. Girl the Goat, a 2011 James Beard "Best New Restaurant" contender, has received recognition from high-profile magazines such as Saveur, New York Times, Food Wine, Better Homes & Gardens, and others. Little Goat, Stephanie's hugely successful follow-up to Girl the Goat, contains a diner, coffee shop, bread store and bar. In the spring of 2013, Little Goat Bread launched a location at the Chicago French Market. Izard was the first woman to win Bravo's "Top Chef," and she is the only original "Top Chef" winner to be named "Fan Favorite." Stephanie was recently chosen to the Macy's Culinary Council and designated celebrity chef of "CMT Artists of the Year." Stephanie is a University of Michigan and Scottsdale Culinary Institute graduate who has worked in some of Chicago's most prestigious kitchens, including La Tache, Spring, and Vong. She formerly operated the critically renowned restaurant Scylla, which she sold shortly before competing on and winning Season 4 of Bravo's "Top Chef." "Girl in the Kitchen," Izard's debut novel, was published in the fall of 2011. Izard also has a recently established product line called The Flavor, By Stephanie Izard, which includes sauces and rubs for the home chef.
