Stan Hupfeld Biography

Stanley Hupfeld was named President and Chief Executive Officer of INTEGRIS Health on July 1, 1995. INTEGRIS Health is an integrated delivery system that includes INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center, and INTEGRIS Rural Health. The system consists of 13 hospitals, all of which are located in Oklahoma. With 1600 beds, the System's annual net sales exceed $l.3 billion. From March 1987 till that time, Hupfeld served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Oklahoma Healthcare Corporation and Baptist Medical Center of Oklahoma. He was named Chairman of the INTEGRIS Family of Foundations on January 1, 2010. In addition, Mr. Hupfeld was the President of All Saints Healthcare in Fort Worth. Mr. Hupfeld is a former member of the American Hospital Association's Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Regional Policy Board. On the Section for Metropolitan Hospitals Governing Council, he has served as a Health Care Systems delegate and alternative delegate, as well as a Metro section alternate delegate. He has served on the Coalition to Project America's Health Care Board as Chairman and Co-Chair of fund-raising. In both Fort Worth and Oklahoma City, he served as the United Way's Campaign Chairman and Chairman of the Board. He is a member of the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where he has served as Chairman of the Board in 1994, Chairman-Elect in 1993, and Vice Chairman from 1990 to 1992. He serves on a number of other Oklahoma boards and commissions as a trustee. Mr. Hupfeld was a member of the University of Texas at Austin's 1963 National Championship Football Team. He has given several talks and been published, and he has received awards from the American Society for Healthcare Planning and Marketing as CEO Marketer of the Year and the Sales & Marketing Executives International as Executive of the Year. He received the W. Cleveland Rodgers Distinguished Service Award in 2003. In 2007, he received one of the American Hospital Association's highest awards, The Award of Honor, and the Oklahoma Nurses Association awarded him the Friends of Nursing Award. Hupfeld was honored in 2009 when the INTEGRIS Health Board of Directors agreed to rename the school The Stanley Hupfeld Academy at Western Village, in recognition of his role as the driving force behind the nation's first hospital-sponsored charter school. He presently contributes a healthcare column to The Journal Record, a local business newspaper. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a bachelor's degree in history and Trinity University with a master's degree in healthcare administration. Trinity University has recognized him as a distinguished graduate. He was the first lay-President of St. Joseph Hospital in El Paso, Texas, after serving as an Administrative Resident at Providence Hospital in El Paso, Texas (1973 1977).
