Erin, Anne Annie Clark, best known as St. Vincent, is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She began her musical career with The Polyphonic Spree and later joined Sufjan Stevens' touring band before founding her own band in 2006. Clark presently resides in Manhattan's financial district. St. Vincent's music has consistently gained recognition for its particular musical style, which combines soft rock jazz and cabaret elements. Marry Me (2007) was her debut album, followed by Actor (2009) and Strange Mercy (2010). (2011). In 2012, she released Love This Giant, a joint album with David Byrne. Clark also sang background vocals on Swans' 2014 album To Be Kind. Her fourth solo album, St. Vincent, was released in February 2014 to critical acclaim; a year later, the record won her her first Grammy award for Best Alternative Album. St. Vincent has opened for groups such as The Black Keys and Arcade Fire. Bird, Andrew Holland, Angelina Jolie Vanderslice, John Death Cab for Cutie Cristina Don and Grizzly Bear by Xiu Xiu. Her songs have appeared on two soundtracks for The Twilight Saga. The first Roslyn was written in conjunction with Bon Iver and debuted on the New Moon soundtrack in 2009; her second The Antidote was composed for and appeared on the Breaking Dawn " Part 2 soundtrack in 2012. Kid Cudi sampled the song The Strangers on the song MANIAC from his 2010 album Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager.
