Sofia Stafford Biography

Sofia Stafford is a senior at Hewitt, a Manhattan all-girls school. She is presently a Girl Up Teen Advisor. In her work, she is dedicated to ensuring that every girl has the chance to be encouraged to pursue her aspirations, whatever they may be. Sofia established and currently chairs the Community Service Board, as well as serving as a curator and mentor for the annual TEDxYouth@ Hewitt Conference. Sofia is also a blogger and campaigner on her own site, ACTBold.org, and she covered the Clinton Global Initiative for Girl Up. Sofia volunteers at Cassidy Place and Women in Need in New York City in her spare time. She spends her summers traveling and undertaking service initiatives. She has traveled to Costa Rica, Peru, Fiji, and has recently returned from Thailand. Sofia hopes to work in international health someday, integrating her interests in science and international concerns. This will also enable her fulfill her self-imposed commitment to contribute to the creation of a more conscious and educated world - a world where everyone has a voice.
